As a child, Carmen Honaker liked to style the hair of her Barbie dolls. Now an adult, Carmen has graduated to cutting and styling the different textures and types of hair of her human clients. Carmen believes in keeping hair healthy and uses Paul Mitchell and Joico products with each cut and color.
With vegan products and an all-natural skincare line, the staff at Shades of Red Day Spa hopes to perform the purest iteration of many traditional spa and salon services. Led by 20-year industry veteran and salon owner Karla Greene, the seven salon consultants continually update their education to stay abreast of beauty trends and share their knowledge with clients. Their specialties include hairstyling, cutting, and hair-color corrections for clients after bobbing for apples in a barrel of fruit punch. Before or after their treatments, patrons can relax in the waiting area, where floor-to-ceiling windows surround products in glass cases, dried-flower arrangements reaching toward towering ceilings, and sculptural lamps.
Chaz Jastes styles hair for the runways these days, but she once focused more on the basketball court. Originally a collegiate basketball player, she decided to put down the ball and try a new career, enrolling in Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School. Since graduating from Paul Mitchell, her work has been showcased at various hair and fashion shows around Cleveland, and she provided assistance at New York Fashion Week in 2011. At The Hair Groupie, she skillfully arranges hair in bold new styles, cuts back overgrown locks, and seamlessly sews hair extensions into natural hair.

As a licensed cosmetologist and massage therapist, Shelly at A Nu Touch works to make her clients both look and feel their best. Her designer haircuts can transform looks—especially when coupled with one of her signature double-process color treatments, virgin relaxers, or full sew-in extension applications. When not reviving hairstyles, Shelly applies her palms to tense necks and backs, alleviating stress with calming kneads or helping give bodies a boost of energy during invigorating massages.
