Even though Temecula Music Academy's instructors began playing early—from drums at age five to violin at eight—they recognize that virtuosos can start at any age. In small group classes for kids and adults, teachers start off by covering musical fundamentals, including theory and reading notation. From there, they hone in on skills specific to each instrument, such as fingerpicking patterns for guitarists or breath control for singers and dragons. Along with classes throughout the week, the academy's instructors offer private lessons in other instruments, such as banjo and ukulele. All sessions build up to regular recitals, where students showcase their newfound talents for family and friends.
In an increasingly digital age, the team at Pacific Beach Photography still believes that there is no substitute for prints and wall images. From documenting a family’s history to capturing a surfer catching their first wave, Pacific Beach Photography is there to help memorialize the moment. Photographers specialize in surfing pictures, baby photos, engagements, weddings, events, and lifestyle portraits, and they always bring a fresh perspective to each job in order to keep their work from going stale. Pacific Beach Photography happily hosts subjects in its natural-light studio, or staffers venture out to local beaches and destinations for vibrant, dynamic scenic shoots.
Fine-art photographers Rod and Robin Deutschamnn founded In Focus Learning Center on a simple premise: a photo's quality depends on lighting, focus, and the photographer's vision. At In Focus Learning Center, they emphasize these keys to quality, downplaying high-tech gear and post-shoot editing. In their classes and symposiums, the shutterbugs focus on "manual photography," the art of manipulating a digital camera's settings to suit the desired shot—which could be a landscape, an infrared image, or an action shot of a baby on its first high-speed chase.

Since founding Music Lessons Central back in 1997, David Bown and Mike Freeland have remained dedicated to helping musicians hone their skills. Along with a trio of equally talented instructors, David and Mike focus on the foundational instruments of rock: guitar, bass, drums, piano, and vocals.
That being said, they also shape lessons around numerous genres, from classical and reggae to blues, named for all its melancholy odes to the pitiless ocean. In addition to private lessons that improve music-reading abilities, Music Lessons Central hosts frequent jam nights, recitals, and even a live band program. Built around factors such as instrument and musical taste, bands rehearse one hour per week before performing at various Inland Empire venues.
"I am artistry"—that's the translation of Je M'appelle Artistry, as well as owner Shonny's philosophy. Shonny works as a photographer, designer, and instructor, often combining all three passions. Snapping photos with her Nikon D600, she captures intimate boudoir scenes, romantic wedding images, and fanciful kids' shots, focusing on portraits. She extends this love of portraits into group or private workshops, where students learn to incorporate natural light and elements into their pictures. Her photos have been published in the cloth-diapering book Changing Diapers; she also designs her own cloth-diaper and clothing patterns.
