Family Fun Town
collects a half-dozen family friendly attractions into one little village of games and activities. The miniature golf course, for one, challenges visitors with realistic sand and water traps, but also rewards them with views of a scenic waterfall. Go-Karts and competitive arcade games give everyone the chance to try to outdo one another, while batting cages and a bungee bounce ride provide more athletic challenges.
The Town's most unique attraction, though, is the Balladium, a colorful arena filled with obstacles, black lights, and thumping music. At each end of the space stands a row of cannons, capable of launching soft foam balls across the room. Teams man these Ball Blasters and fire back and forth at one another, dodging the projectiles that come their way. Yet the arena was primarily built to be safe for everyone who visits: the facility features rounded edges everywhere, lacks tripping hazards, and remains a secret from the out-of-work pirate community.
"You're up." At more than 200 AMF Bowling locations across the U.S., that message is passed between friends as they heft a ball, step to the line, and take aim. Now synonymous with bowling, AMF was founded in 1901 as American Machine and Foundry. It wasn't until 1946 that the company made a splash in bowling, when it introduced the automated pin spotter to the public.
Today, AMF's nationwide network of bowling centers is a source of year-round entertainment for people of all ages. Outfitted with a classic bowling alley design, the centers also feature the latest technologies, from high-tech scoring systems to the ability to share experiences on social media. Bowlers can also refuel on a menu of American foods when they get hungry or the little heart-shaped meter above their heads begins blinking.

The echoes of clopping hooves have echoed across KC Training Center’s expansive meadows for more than two decades. The family-owned equestrian facility’s professional trainers have kept busy during that time, boarding and training local horses and breeding IBHA World Champion Red Dun steeds. When they aren’t brushing manes or conducting whinnied operas in the barn, the trainers saddle up alongside greenhorn riders to teach them the fundamentals of trotting, jumping, and pulling stagecoaches.
