  • Malibu Discovery Tours
Malibu Discovery Tours' experienced guides shepherd locals and visitors on various tours of the salt-air scenery around Malibu?s coasts and wineries. As guests summit mountains at sunrise, the guides point out celebrity mansions, exquisite wildlife, and the laundromats of Hollywood elites. In between views of the ocean and passes through mountain landscapes, tour groups can watch the rolling vineyards of local wine country and look for amorous initial carvings by a teenage John Adams on Old Malibu's historic building fa?ades.

  • San Antonio Winery and Restaurant
As the years have led to urban expansion, only one Los Angeles winery has stood the test of time. The San Antonio Winery and Restaurant in Lincoln Heights is so beloved as a local drinking institution, it was given cultural monument status in 1966. Since then, the hidden-away winery, down a few side streets in an industrial part of the downtown area, has been quietly serving up glasses of fine wine from their Italian-style villa. Terracotta roofs and tall greenery line the exterior of this operational winery, which has been bottling since 1917. Free wine tastings and tours are available daily, and the attached Maddalena restaurant serves homey Italian food.

  • The Rosenthal Malibu Estate
Malibu is famed for its stunning beaches, but walk 4 miles inland and you'll find another coastal treasure?the wines of The Rosenthal Malibu Estate. In 1987, George Rosenthal began the process of planting the estate's first vines, which now spread across 250 acres of unique microclimate perfectly suited for grape growing. Sunny during the day and cool and breezy at night, the land yields red and white varietals, including more than 30 gold-medal award-winning varieties of chardonnay, viognier, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, petit verdot, and cabernet franc. Winemaker Christian Roguenant oversees the entire process, from aging the wines in French oak barrels to tickling the grapes until their juice falls out. Visitors to the Tasting Room, located on the scenic Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu just a few miles north of Santa Monica, can relax and enjoy sunny ocean views while sipping their favorite Rosenthal or Surfrider wine. Guests are invited to bring their own picnic or purchase a snack from the small selection of cheese and crackers.
