Q&A with Kathy & Steve Lieberman, Owners
Besides making clients happy, what do you like most about your job?
Watching customers discover new wines to love. Many have tried wines that have become their favorite until they experience handcrafted wines with the knowledge gained from our staff. They discover why our wines are different from bottled wines they have purchased on the shelves, and the benefit of enjoying a more natural product lower in typical preservatives. Wines with a full fruit taste produce the "wow" factor.
Sometimes it's all about the little things in life. What supplemental courtesies do you include with your main services to leave clients with a smile on their face?
Customers love the ability to personalize their labels in our store.
They share pictures of vacations, anniversaries, birthdays, etc., and get creative with their choices for their labels. They love having their label ready and waiting at their bottling appointment. They enjoy leaving with beautiful bottles of handcrafted wines perfect for gift giving and sharing with friends.
What aspect of your job, or the services you offer, most often surprises people?
Sharing knowledge of wine and the process that makes it fun.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Our store is a relaxed environment perfect for tasting wine, sharing wine, and browsing for that perfect wine accessory or gift item for themselves or their wine-loving friends.

Far from being an artist possessed, Patty Sisco derives the same benefit from painting as she does from a long bubble bath. "All you are thinking about is your brushstrokes, not your bills," she told the Bloomingdale-Riverview Patch, speaking to the therapeutic value of her classes at Sketch and Sip. These sessions supply students of all backgrounds—including those who have never before lifted a brush—with canvas, tools, and a step-by-step demonstration on how to create their own vibrant masterpieces. As they work, Patty encourages her guests to imbibe drinks they've brought from home and plays serene music to prompt creative flow. She moves throughout the room to offer tips on technique and helps with corrections in case students’ hands slip or they change their minds about adding a goatee to their horse portrait.
Though the classes, which have been featured on NBC's Daytime, are responsible for much of the studio's reputation, Patty also plans other community craft events. Each week on Wacky Wine Glass Wednesday, visitors embellish cups with fetching colors and patterns. Artists can even customize an image for their friends or family to paint during private parties, teaching children to color in SpongeBob SquarePants and encouraging coworkers to bond by sketching each other's staplers.
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
We are a Green Cleaning Company providing outstanding service to our customers, we make sure you're happy with your cleaning or we'll send someone back to redo the job at no extra charge.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
After the birth of my second child, I needed to find something part time so I could still spend time with him.I started cleaning
part time and my clients loved my work, recommended me to friends
and family and about a year later Completely Clean Ny was founded.
What do you love most about your job?
This job is very rewarding because I enjoy cleaning, so whenever I walk into a job and it's total chaos, when I walk out it look like a totally different place. So seeing how different you could make a space look, or how clean it can become after you're done is awesome.
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
A text or email from a client thanking me for such a good job, or saying the place looks
and smells great..Thank you so much..means a lot.
Much like professional skydivers, wily coyotes, and other careers that involve a degree of danger, most professional glassblowers aren’t self-taught. Joshua Poll, however, learned to harness the glass furnace all by himself, today imparting more than a decade of self-taught experience to Zen Glass Studios, where he and fellow glass smith David Walker create custom works of art by hand. Together they shape glass into authentic and unique pieces, including custom glassware and jewelry to wear while meeting a spouse’s goldfish for the first time.
Within their studio, Joshua and David teach workshops and classes, during which students survey basic to advanced glass-blowing techniques, crafting their own handmade objects such as ornaments, beer glasses, and vases. The duo also runs a full glassblower training program, which follows a syllabus structured to arm all students with all the necessary skills to set out on their own in the industry, just as Joshua did all those years ago.
Using the experiences gained during years as a professional racecar driver and builder, Competition 101 Racing School founder Stuart Lycett trains the next generation of podium finishers during one-on-one racing lessons. Whether behind the wheel of stock cars, Trans Am T2 sports cars, sprint cars, or open-wheel cars, pupils soak in on-track experience on dirt tracks, short ovals, speedways, or road circuits while radios and on-board video cameras record every turn for scrutiny during future feedback sessions.
In addition to their introductory class, instructors also offer one-, two-, and three-day school programs. After the three-day program, studious speedsters may complete their training by competing in a sanctioned race event in front of paying spectators and a real checkered flag. Stuart and his crew also welcome interns willing to work for six months in exchange for a free three-day racing school program.
