First-time visitors to the Camarillo Ranch House might be struck with a profound sense of deja vu. The explanation? They've seen certain reruns of Gilligan's Island or The Incredible Hulk, or, if they're a little older, TV ads for Polaroid or Country Time Lemonade. The home's Queen Anne architecture—dating to 1892—and lush landscape have acted in the background of several movies, TV shows, and commercials. Attached stables have housed the Camarillo White Horses, who performed at area festivities including the Santa Barbara Fiesta and Pasadena Rose Parades for more than 60 years.
Today, the house plays host to more than 150 special events every year, including festivals and weddings. When the parties aren't in full swing, tour groups pass through the Ranch's rooms, exploring rotating exhibits and learning about the philanthropic legacy of Adolfo Camarillo, one of Ventura County's first citizens.
Charging through fields of giant spools, over stacks of hay bales, staking out a junkyard, and through winding trenches is a daily occurrence at Ambush Paintball Park. Six scenario theme fields and a tournament-grade turf arena field spread over 20 acres give players of all skills levels a variety of combat zones on which to wage simulated warfare. The City pits players in an unforgiving, paint-or-be-painted war zone consisting of 32 buildings over 40,000 square feet without a protected crosswalk in sight. History serves as the inspiration of the World War I field, where players begin their match inside a WWI–style trench, and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat by either successfully defending their base or charging the field to overrun their opponent's trenches. Players of the Arena can practice their tournament skills on a field littered with inflated obstacles seen in professional competitions. Ambush Paintball Park's professional staff is on hand to help players with equipment and technical issues.

The people who pose for Peekabooth photos are mostly Vikings or celebrities––if you judge by their horned helmets and oversized sunglasses, that is. Really, those accessories are just props from the booths' eclectic prop boxes, which are include in each rental. An attendant oversees the booths, too, answering revelers' questions about how to pose, or whether vampires can be seen in photographs. Along with the helpful attendant, the Sony sub-dye printers churn out unlimited high-quality prints, producing double copies a mere 10 seconds after the posing session ends.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
After being in the wedding business for so long, clients started asking for photobooths. So I gave them what they wanted.
