Shine Alternative Fitness helps all types of fitness goers achieve health goals. Named one of the 20 ?Coolest Clubs in America? in Shape magazine?s 2013 Gym Awards, the center?s founders are both Cirque du Soleil veterans: Dima Shine, a solo artist in Cirque du Soleil?s Zumanity, and Russ Petroni, Cirque du Soleil?s Las Vegas production manager.
The duo?s passion for performance arts shines through in each of their classes. In their Aerial Fitness classes, for example, students develop upper body, core, and grip strength while wrapped in silks that hang from the ceiling. Meanwhile, antigravity classes have students striking balancing poses while suspended in the air by silk hammocks. To round out their coursework, the team also offers an array of more traditional gym classes, from Xtreme Boxing to Abs & Body, Ballet and Flexibility.

It started as a cheerleading academy, but there's more to Vegas Cheer Authority than its name implies. Founded to help continue the growth and development in the sport of cheerleading, VCA still aims to instill powerful values in its young athletes, but the school has now expanded to include dance as well as cheer. Students perfect their skills during both recreational classes and competitive teams. Whether mastering a tumbling pass, flying through the air, or nailing the perfect hip-hop combination, students are also learning to lead with integrity and to use determination as a key to success.
Gymnastics isn't all about tumbling and teleporting. It's also an important way for children and teens to build strength, flexibility, and self-confidence. My Gym Children's Fitness Center, which currently has more than 270 international locations, began more than 30 years ago as a structured place for children to safely play, acquire new skills, and romp off a sugar buzz. All classes are organized according to age level—starting as young as 3 months—and designed to incorporate the latest physiological and psychological research. Tiny Tykes gets babies moving with help from their parents, Mighty Mites teaches toddlers self-reliance and beginning sports skills, and Whiz Kids, a class for kids aged 4 and a half to 6, emphasizes motor skills such as running, jumping, throwing, and kicking. My Gym's energetic instructors are experts at using music, dance, and gymnastics to build youngsters' strength and self-esteem, while stimulating their giggle-plexes. The noncompetitive environment fosters creativity, and hands-on activities boost children's learning retention and fun quotient.
