What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Learning is the key to all of our work and our teaching is done as if we were working with our own family. We encourage our students to never stop striving and to set and complete goals by teaching through positive reinforcement. Learning shouldn't be boring so we like to make it as fun as possible
Is your location strictly for adults, or can kids participate as well?
There is no age restriction. Ages 4-6 concentrates more on Stranger Danger with Self-Defense. Ages 7-12 concentrates on Bullies and Stranger Danger with Self-Defense and Ages 13 + is our Adult Classes which concentrates on Self Defense from real world Situations (chokes, grabs, punches, etc.)
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
We love to make a difference in people's lives while also having a positive impact on society. It's great to watch a child's confidence grow as they continue their training with us and the reward of knowing you are teaching the skills that could save someone's life is indescribable.
What do you love most about your job?
When students tell us that we make their bad days better or when the parents tell us that their child is doing better in school now that they are in Karate.
When Joan Barnes founded Gymboree Play & Music in 1976, she envisioned a facility where parents and children could play together in a safe and age-appropriate environment. In the following decades, Gymboree Play & Music spread to more than 30 countries across the globe, helping youngsters from infants to 5 years old develop cognitive, physical, and social skills. The company's instructors lead classes such as Play & Learn, its flagship course, in which parents and kids move through a seven-level program filled with storytelling, play activities, and debates on the merits of sandwich crust. Talented staffers also prep youngsters for school and foster development in areas such as music, art, and sports. Throughout all classes, they make use of custom play equipment designed by acclaimed playground designer and seesaw-tamer Jay Beck.
Checking in at 5,878 yards from the back tees for a par of 71, Deer Pass Golf Course's 18-hole layout spans the hilly, well-manicured terrain of Seville. Though beautiful scenery is a course constant, golfers will likely leave with the seventh hole most firmly etched in their memory. This deceptive, 155-yard par 3 features an island green, making tee shots tricky and potentially ruinous for anyone who doesn't know the secret ferry handshake. Before or after their round, golfers can prep their short game at the practice green or fuel up with a snack and refreshments at the on-site snack bar.
