Located beside its softball fields, Cornerstone Park's batting cages echo with the crack of blistering line drives. The facilities feature nine automated pitching machines, including cages that sling baseballs and softballs, and different pitching speeds are offered depending on which cage is selected. Cages may be rented by the round?16 pitches?or by the hour.
Located at the base of the Rocky Mountains, Gateway Park Fun Center combines the splendor of its natural backdrop with a variety of manmade attractions. Fresh mountain air courses through the two 18-hole mini-golf courses and whips the hair of go-kart racers on a track more than 2,100 feet long. Guests with unstable hairdos can retreat inside, where an arcade loaded with games such as skee-ball and NFL Throw?along with a batting cage, driving range, and human maze?make the park a year-round destination.
During her 19-year career, Tonja Hadley—or “Coach T” as her students call her—has motivated athletes to victory at the NCAA’s Division I and Division II levels. Now leading boot-camp classes at The Edge Sports Center, the registered strength and conditioning coach applies her wealth of fitness expertise to students looking to get in shape. Her workouts combine the benefits of cardio and strength training into a single rigorous routine. Students rapidly move from exercises on body balls to floor routines and lifting weights, keeping pulses pounding and muscles guessing. Classes are sometimes held on The Edge Sports Center's 22,000 square foot indoor field so students can eschew drawn-out stints on the treadmill.
Matt Daly, an experienced teacher with three years of college ball and four years in the pros under his belt. Today as an instructor, he helps players take cuts and hurl their best stuff. Matt is still active in the minor league system with the Toronto Blue Jays organization, with two years of Double-A experience, striving for a return to major-league play.
