$99 for an All-Day Jet-Boat Tour with Lunch and Drinks ($209 Value)

Along sweeping rivers, jet boats power through three different states, catching views of towering mountain ranges during this all-day excursion. Narrated by a Coast Guard–certified tour captain, trips cover approximately 200 miles with intermittent stops throughout the day. Passengers learn Native American history, local geology, and the stories of Hells Canyon, including a historical walking tour at Kirkwood Ranch and museum. Coffee, iced tea, and lemonade are available at each of the day's periodic stops, and trips include a boxed lunch with a deli sandwich, potato chips, and a cookie. Tours depart at 8 a.m., return by 6 p.m. that evening, and are free for children 8 and younger.

Beamers Hells Canyon Tours

Beamers Hells Canyon Tours ferries passengers through the vacillating rapids of one of the deepest river gorges in North America. Along nearly 200 miles of majestic landscapes and American history, certified tour captains delve into detailed narratives on geological landmarks, Native American history, and how U.S. mail delivery developed from horseback to the modern-day jetpack. Wine-tasting and brunch cruises complement degustation with stunning scenes of mountain ranges, rivers, and rare glimpses of local wildlife foraging for food or preparing their tax-return forms, and fishing charters let anglers test their mettles against the river’s crafty steelhead, sturgeon, and bass.

The river is so beautiful, and the hills were ever changing. The rock formations were different at every turn.

“Customers should not be allowed alcohol on board. One passenger drank from early a.m. Until right before he got off the boat. He tried to start a fight with another passenger and the captain did nothing but his helper calmly tried to talk the drunk down. It was a nice trip but myself and the rest of the passengers had to listen to this man get louder and louder and rude. At one point he was taking off his jewelry so he could fight another passenger who was a very nice man trying to help another woman. ”
