Beginner pilots arrive at Raleigh-Durham International Airport and meet one of Blue Line Aviation, LLC's FAA-certified instructors. The instructor covers flying fundamentals during a 30-minute ground-school session before helping pupils into the cockpit of a Cessna 172N single-engine aircraft. Soaring high above Morrisville, the instructor teaches students to control and maneuver the plane. After an hour, the plane lands and newly crowned pilots take home a souvenir T-shirt.

The lesson may be used toward FAA pilot certification requirements, although certification is not included with the Groupon. In order to obtain FAA certification, pilots must be 17 or older, a US citizen, meet medical standards, and be fluent in English.

Blue Line Aviation LLC

Located at Raleigh-Durham International Airport, Blue Line Aviation LLC unlocks the skies with aircraft management, rental planes, and flight instruction. The FAA–certified instructors, which include company president Charles "Trey" Walters III, help students grab the yoke and soar toward private, instrument, commercial, and flight-instructor ratings. These lessons can take place in a student's own aircraft or in one of Blue Line Aviation's four airplanes or catapult-powered hamster balls.
