Just because virtually every inch of Grand Rapids Strength and Conditioning's 5,000-square-foot gym brims with muscle-building tools such as ropes, weights and medicine balls, it doesn't mean the staff are hardcore fitness brutes. They pride themselves on their family-friendly approach to getting in shape, including helping high school and college athletes improve while staying safe. Training for speed, strength, agility, and power, they welcome clients of all fitness levels, scaling their cardio and strength-building regimens to accommodate beginners and fitness fanatics alike. This individualized approach engenders a noncompetitive environment for members—although the team does support competitive athletes.
