The CrossRoads Bar & Grill
It's only fitting that, in its perpetual celebration of blues music's presence in Chicago, The CrossRoads Bar & Grill was named after a blues legend. The bar's moniker comes from the tale of a young musician who, one night at a dusty street intersection in Mississippi, sold his soul to the devil in exchange for unearthly talent, instead of the usual wish for a snickerdoodle. In keeping with this spirit, CrossRoads' mixes together ample blues imagery, Chicago beer, and pub food with a Southern twist.
Chefs create Cajun-style catfish poboys, broasted chicken, and barbecue ribs made with local BarBQphoria sauce. The aromas of these meals—and the sounds of blues and jazz—rise through the bar's rustic interiors.
Wood and exposed brick walls surround the bar, and in secluded banquettes aged liquor barrels serve as knee-height tables. The pub also draws visitors inside with Wednesday-night bar trivia and screenings of Hawks, Bulls, and Big 10 games. On game days, it offers complimentary shuttles to the United Center.
