Glass can be exquisite in its myriad forms, from the ornate windows of a Gothic cathedral to the crystalline webbing of a freshly vandalized windshield. Reflect on beauty with this Groupon.
Choose Between Two Options
- $25 for two kids' art classes (a $50 value)
- $24 for seven pottery-painting sessions (up to a $49 value)
Kids' classes meet Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Youngsters adorn objects such as bowls, masks, glass, and pottery, learning about the techniques used to decorate each item; all materials are included. The pottery-painting Groupon includes paint, brushes, glazing, and firing; ceramic pieces are sold separately.
At Designing Dish, brushes flit quietly across the surfaces of ready-made ceramic bowls, piggy banks, and mugs. Art-deco blocks of color, portraits of loved ones, and the fingerprints of youngsters leap from the newly colorful pieces, dappled with color from the studio’s range of paints and glazes. A kiln uses powerful heat to make the works of art more colorful and solid so that they can be passed down through generations like a razor for shaving off all the hair from a family curse. In addition to ceramics, the instructors offer lessons in glass fusing, metal stamping, and copper enameling.

“Kids classes were fun. Teacher was nice and the class sizes were small.”
