The culinary staff at Empress Tea Room & Bistro teams up with local dancers Laurie and Richard Collett every Thursday night to entertain visitors with tasty eats and professional ballroom dancing. During dinner, guests fork through salads and a chicken, fish, beef, or vegetarian entree as the Colletts glide through choreography that has earned them titles and bibliographies in the US Amateur Open to the World and the Ohio Star Ball.

After thrilling gastronomes with vivid moves and synchronized butter-knife duels, Laurie and Richard educate guests on different dance moves and styles, explaining and breaking down steps into an easily digestible form. After filling tummies with food and brains with knowledge, attendees spend the remainder of the evening striding cheek-to-cheek across Empress’s marble dance floor.

Empress Tea Room & Bistro

Soft lights tumble from the crystal chandeliers of Empress Tea Room & Bistro, landing on white table linens and glinting off delicate bone-china sets as diners soak up the sights and smells. The restaurant hosts visitors for lunch throughout the week as well as during Saturday high-tea sessions and Sunday brunch hours. In addition to the elegant main dining room, Empress welcomes guests into an interior garden room, which surrounds them with murals of vines. After perusing the lunch menu, visitors can enjoy specialties such as the Anna Cordelia sandwich with smoked turkey, cranberry, and melted brie, or the vegetable quiche with seasonal vegetables and cheeses. WiFi access and board games are also available to provide entertainment for diners.

From the top notch king crab soup, to the scrumptious salad, then the high tea decadent sandwiches and the high tea desert so cute and mouth watering.

Love how the Tea Room has just that elegant touch of class without being gauche. The antiques are beautiful and look like one of a kind pieces.
