Horsemanship is the mastery of riding and grooming, unlike Manhorseship, which is just a good name for a centaur's yacht. Take the reins with this Groupon.

Choose from Three Options

Youngsters ages 6–16 learn to groom, lead, saddle, and ride horses from trained and enthusiastic instructors. The camp takes place from 8 a.m.—1 p.m. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult for the introductory class. Additional purchase is not required for the adult.

This 90-minute lesson for kids or adults begins with a barn tour that introduces students to the horses and the staff. After a lecture on horse psychology, students lead, brush, and saddle up their horses, then work on turning, steering, balancing, and stopping.

Giddyup Stables

Giddyup Stables' head trainer Christina Carl has had a lot of success in her 15 years of teaching horseback riding. “I have taken students from never riding before to winning in the show ring in just a few months,” she explains on her website. She quickly shows that a gentle attitude towards horses is best. During her lessons, Christina focuses on balance, control, and treating horses with respect, including teaching students how to properly handle a spooked horse.
