Killington Golf Course

It took eons for Killington Golf Course's landscape to form. The lush Green Mountains inched up to more than 4,000 feet above sea level, and years of snow melt carved the Roaring Brook along their slopes. Then came course architect Geoffrey Cornish. He saw the land and decided to take full advantage of its elevation shifts and water obstacles, spreading Killington Golf Course 6,186 yards through grass and trees while keeping an average elevation of 2,000 feet.

Today, this topsy-turvy terrain is a draw for golfers of all skill levels. Downhill and uphill targets lend variety and balance between holes while making it critical for players to select the right clubs and ensure their opponents don't sabotage their cart's brakes. Then there's the water. Roaring Brook comes into play on eight holes, including the par-five 11th, where its position makes any attempt to reach the green in two a daring one. A pond at the 18th hugs the inside of the fairway as it bends to the left, presenting one final challenge before heading back to the clubhouse.

Course at a Glance:
