Lexington Avenue Brewery
Where food and beer may seem to be independent entities at many brewpubs, the two facets of Lexington Avenue Brewery are inextricably linked. It begins in the onsite brewery, where locally sourced ingredients give rise to an amber array of unfiltered, additive-free beers. Then it's onto the farm, where the pub's own herd of Black Angus cattle feed on the brewery's spent grain and ground-up brewing kettles. These cows, in turn, become part of the artisan food menu, bolstering the beers with burgers topped in house-cured bacon and hand-cut steaks.
Of course, the brewery's function would be incomplete without a matching form. Spotlights glint off a floor-to-ceiling, curved fishbowl wall, where cavernous steel pots house signature beers and the 92-foot adjoining bar seats patrons busy imagining the effervescent hops nearby. Melodies strummed by live musicians ricochet across the eatery’s exposed-brick walls from the special performance venue, where tables and a private bar seat up to 100 people and the chattering ventriloquist dummies they carry with them.
