Voices echo across two large pools at the cavernous Milpitas Star Aquatics & Fitness facility, as swimmers propel themselves through pristine waters during lap-swim and open-pool sessions. Certified instructors lead younger paddlers during swimming lessons and team practices, teaching them proper technique and safety tactics. The lesson plans they use were crafted by World Cup swimming champion and owner Abi Liu, who personally trains every instructor on staff.

Beyond the pool area lies a comprehensive fitness facility, filled with cardio machines, weight-training equipment, steam rooms, and saunas. There’s also an onsite cafe, where servers dole out hot sandwiches and fresh salads along with specialty coffee drinks and smoothies. And because there is a glass wall that separates the café and the pool, parents can sip lattes while watching their swimming kids transform into merpeople.
