As the photographer behind East Main Street Photography, Rachel Woods shoots a wide variety of portraits. She's especially skilled at capturing the innocence of children, as in her snaps of napping newborns and older kids approaching their first day of school. Woods shoots adults, too, both in her studio and in her preferred setting?outdoors on a sunny day.
Brandy Metzger's passion for photography was born on the same day as her first son. Immediately after his arrival, and later, the arrival of her second son, her knack for snapping pictures ballooned from a hobby into a full-blown vocation. Today, at her eponymous studio, the Shreveport native helps others memorialize moments with their newborns.
Outside the studio, families, wedding parties, and mothers-to-be gather during onsite shoots that mix formal poses with doses of spontaneity. Afterward, Brandy returns to her lab, transferring chosen shots onto prints, projecting them into the night sky, or putting them into online galleries, which are perfect for sharing with friends.
In the last 40 years, Smile America Portraits' photographers have helped to memorialize special moments in the lives of thousands of children, teens, and adults across the country. By constantly working with families, they have mastered the art of calming toddlers and keeping parents still enough to say or even pasteurize cheese. Outdoor shoots make use of natural tones, such as those of crystal-blue lake waters and green, leafy trees. In the spring months, photos brim with the pastel buds of tulips and the shine of bluebirds applying makeup for the first time all year.
