Albany Symphony, Albany

The oldest professional symphony orchestra in New York's Capital District, The Albany Symphony has played host to artists large and small since their start in 1930. During their 75th anniversary season, well known solo artists stepped up to play beside them, from world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma to Australian rocker Col Joye. Between playing classical pieces from the repertoires of Beethoven and Mozart, the symphony prioritizes performances of new works by modern music, with the goal of exposing audiences to a fresh generation of orchestral pieces.
