Longtime cook Daeva Yearwood Frierson—the eponymous Lady D—got serious about the culinary arts in 2008 when she enrolled in Le Cordon Bleu with a specialty in pastries and baking. Now a diploma-holding dessert chef, Frierson tickles taste buds throughout the metro Atlanta area with her cupcakes and truffles, made from scratch at her home base in Alpharetta. Three sizes of cupcakes sate disparate appetites, ranging from the double-dimensioned jumbo size to the bite-sized mini, perfect as an hors d'oeuvre or a Lilliputian birthday cake. Chocolate truffles fill mouths with sugary filling, whereas strawberries can come dressed in fetching, tuxedo-shaped choco coverings to commemorate formal celebrations.
