Calories burned, calories earned: the organizers behind Cooking Light & Health's Fit Foodie 5K have adopted this mantra to the fullest degree. Although the course itself is reason enough to strap on running shoes, racers are motivated by prizes that make medals pale in comparison. Just beyond the finish line waits Finisher's Village, a delicious municipality with cooking demos, wine tastings, and food samplings from chefs.

Fit Foodie 5K is a celebration that stretches beyond the race itself. Demos, tastings, and bootcamp and yoga classes also pack the weekend's itinerary. Attendees may even run into a celebrity from the fitness or culinary world, as well as some of the many contributors to Cooking Light and Health magazines. And all of the energy goes towards a good cause.
