Sturdy and strong. Feminine and welcoming. These aren't just the traits that Lauren and Chris, co-owners of Hardwood and Lace, admire in each other most. They're also the inspiration behind the name of their business, as well as an accurate description of what many of their customers create there.

Inside their Austin workshop, guests start the process of making a wood-pallet sign by prepping their board, stencil, and paint. During the laid-back two-hour class, instructors provide guidance when needed as individuals craft their own work of art, often emblazoned with inspirational or witty words.
