She was known for her intense love, loyalty, and ability to make any stranger feel like family. She was a hard worker, owning and operating various Mexican restaurants in Houston, Texas. At home and at work, Betty was a role model to her sons and others, practicing a "Whatever It Takes" approach to balancing the demands of parenting and running a business. After she passed away in 2010, her sons carried on her legacy by opening Mama Betty's Tex-Mex y Cantina in her memory.
