Long lines, some of the vendors only gave one wing to sample after standing in line for like 30mins or more.

For it being the first annual wing fest. It could have had an all you can wing section.

You basically pay money to stand in line. There were maybe 5 wing vendors and hundreds of people. When you finally get to the front you get 1 maybe 2 wings. Hooters gave you 3. Take the money you're going to spend to get in and just go buy some wings!

Next year more support service vendors at the festival. After all this was not about food but about Alzheimer Organization of Kern County.

Lines were way too long and I only received one or two wings at each stand. Some stands even ran out of wings an hour into the event. Better organizing is needed for this event in the future.

Wings were delicious, but the lines to just get 1 or 2 wings were ridiculously long. Maybe next year they can organize better.

Lines were far too long and vendor spots were ill equipped to service such a large crowd. I suggest larger staffing for wing fest 2. The beer was nice and cold, so that's a plus. Unrealistic to expect the first one to be perfect. We will be there for the next one, hopefully as I said the vendors will invest in more staffing. One line at each vendor both is not nearly enough.

From Our Editors

Kristopher J. Evans had a dream—a messy, saucy, deep-fried dream. Known to his friends and family for his "Orange Honey for Money" sauce, he's spent a long time developing original sauces, a testament to his passion for wings. Starting in 2016, Evans founded the Bakersfield Wing Festival to bring together other wingnuts for an afternoon of spicy samples to benefit charity. Sponsored by such local establishments as The Hens Roost, J's Place Waffle House, and Bleu Fox Culinary Co.—and national chains such as Wing Stop and Buffalo Wild Wings—the festival pits the best efforts of wing vendors against each other in a contest for Hottest Wing, Most Creative Flavor, and People's Choice Award.
