Camp Fire Alabama serves more than 11,000 children each year through classroom and outdoor programs that enrich their lives and give them positive experiences. The majority of the children attend Camp Fire classroom programs that include mentoring for elementary- and middle-school students, career-prep courses, and character-development programs that aim to combat violence and bullying.
Outdoors, Camp Fire runs Camp Fletcher, a 300-acre retreat that's been open since 1926. Camp Fletcher caters to all ages, genders, and interests by offering activities like swimming, hiking, canoeing, games, crafts, and other pursuits that don't require Wi-Fi and power outlets. All of Camp Fire Alabama's programs are available at a significant discount because of support by the United Way, corporate partners, grants, and other fundraising.
