Make Your Own Mala 4/19/2015 8:45am-11:30am

The use of 108 beads strung to make up the mala is a very long tradition found in yoga and meditation throughout history. It is a beautiful tool for use in meditation, chanting, and asana. I can also be a gentle visual and tangible reminder off of the mat to take a breath and pause in connection to what calms your mind. In this workshop, Steph B will be providing supplies and instruction on how to create your own beautiful mala. The beads will be provided and you will be able to choose from one of the three selected colors. There will be different guru beads to choose from, as well as traditional rudrakasha beads to add into your mala. Tools will be provided, but you may want to bring your own scissors as we will be sharing. Following the session of mala making, we will participate in Laura's Bhakti Yoga class with our new malas as inspiration and as tools for the closing chant.

Enchanted Yogis with Samantha 5/2/2015

The Enchanted Yogis program is a class where kids aged 3-7 can learn to be present in their bodies and minds through playful yoga poses and breathing. Stories, songs, puppets, crafts and other age-appropriate props are incorporated to spark the child's inner yogi and enhance language development, motor control and imagination. Class is a balance between active and passive poses. Class usually has a theme that helps kids work through life issues such as fear, change, anger, or to help introduce yogic ideals such as compassion, cooperation, courage and truth. Bhakti Vinyasa combines the chanting of universal mantras with the graceful movement of vinyasa flow yoga. The practice usually opens and closes with kirtan, a form of call and response chanting. New to the Practice

Align and Restore

In this class you will focus on the fundamentals of alignment, refining your technique and building a strong foundation with both postures (asanas) and breath work (pranayama). This class is perfect for those new to yoga, individuals healing from injury or illness, or those looking for a more gentle class.

Yin

This class is a introspective practice suitable for all levels of experience. Fewer postures are visited for longer periods of time allowing the student to focus on breathing into the connective tissue that surrounds the joints in the body. After years of neglect and abuse the connective tissue may become “shrink-wrapped” and needs to be stretched gently without muscular contractions. This class is designed to balance your practice giving you ample time to breath into long stretches and move towards balance in our hectic day to day lives.

Restorative

Come relax, renew, and recharge after the holiday weekend. Restorative Yoga offers your body support with props so that you can relax and move towards the natural calm that rests inside. A quiet and dim room will foster a place to be still and introspective with the mind body connection. All experience levels are welcome, please bring a pillow and a blanket.

Slow Flow

This class will focus on how to move with calm energy through a Vinyasa Flow practice. Offering time to discover your breath and body awareness as you move through space. This class is perfect for those looking to release tension from the day and discover the peace and ease that can be found on your mat.

Basic Yoga

This class focuses on the foundation of the Vinyasa Flow structure. Spend more time breaking down postures from the ground up to build an understanding of alignment. Work with modifications and props to learn how to customize each posture to maximize its benefits in your body. A great place to start for new students.

Hot Fusion (All Levels)

A blended class, Hot Fusion combines the traditional twenty-six Hot Yoga postures with complementary hatha yoga postures. Students will not only enjoy the benefits of a Hot Yoga class but will also tone their upper bodies, strengthen their cores, and open their hips. This class is taught in a hot and humid room, so come prepared to sweat!. If you’re a traditional Hot Yoga student and want to deepen your practice, this is the class for you. All are welcome, though, as this class is accessible to every student. Some foundational yoga experience will be helpful.

Because we want yoga to be accessible to the masses, we’ve elected to continue with our $5 community classes. These classes are great for beginners, and for students looking to explore the many different classes we offer.

Pilates (All Levels)

This is an open class for anyone who has ever wondered about the benefits of Pilates, a wonderful practice that can increase strength, flexibility and endurance. This class is for beginners and will concentrate on building core strength. Once your muscles adapt to this, you can move on to a more difficult class and keep building strength!

Hot Fusion (All Levels)

Hot Power Vinyasa (All Levels)

Power and movement are the foundation of this class. Create heat and energy in the body as one asana leads fluidly into another in a class that integrates cardio, balance, strength and relaxation. Link breath with movement as you begin to explore your Vinyasa Flow. This class is best suited to students with a solid foundation in yoga.

Pilates (INT/ADV)

This is a more advanced Pilates class, and requires that you are familiar with and accustomed to the basic principles of this practice. This class will take your strength, flexibility, and endurance to a new level.

Hot Sculpt (All Levels)

Designed for new practitioners and athletes alike, this class incorporates free weights to bolster the strength-training potential of yoga. A total body workout, this class “sculpts” every major muscle group. We’ll flow through sun salutations and hold postures with weights, and the instructor will offer modifications that will help you build strength and master the fundamentals of the postures.

Hot Hip Hop Flow (All Levels)

Don’t let the name scare you! There’s no dancing in this All Levels Vinyasa Flow class, but hip hop beats set our pace. Allow yourself to move your asana with the energizing tunes and find power in your Warrior pose as the music plays. Be prepared to sweat, challenge yourself, and have fun!

TNT- Tighten and Tone (All Levels)

Tighten and Tone is what you will do in this class. Using equipment including the barre and weights, you will focus on small controlled movements to shape your physique. With low resistance and high numbers of repetitions, you will burn fat and tone muscle.

Honey Flow

In this class you will chant, flow, slow and still. Chant- we will experience advanced pranayama practices through chanting to open up the internal channels of the body Flow- we will flow through the Yang aspects of energy through active and dynamic flow of breath and postures building heat in the body Slow- after flowing, we’ll take the body through an advanced balancing sequence that will integrate introspection into the body. Still-as the class winds down, we will segway into the Yin aspects of passive, grounding poses This class is a gateway class for those who are looking for more stillness in their practice by physically exerting to prepare the body and mind to receive the benefits of Yin.

Hot Fusion (INT)

This 75 minute classes will build upon the foundation of our standard Hot Fusion class. A blended class, Hot Fusion combines the traditional twenty-six Hot Yoga postures with complementary hatha yoga postures. Students will not only enjoy the benefits of a Hot Yoga class but will also tone their upper bodies, strengthen their cores, and open their hips.
