A celebration of active lifestyles, craft beer, and local communities, Craft Brew Races send participants scampering on a 5K road race and reward them with a local craft-beer festival. The inaugural series hit the pavement in a handful of New England locations in 2014, showcasing more than 100 breweries along the way. Craft Brew Races are now beginning to unfold in cities around the country.

At each event, individuals and teams earn awards during timed 5K races before everyone gathers to celebrate during postrace festivals. Food vendors there dole out some much-needed sustenance while live bands crank out jams to keep feet moving. And of course, dozens of breweries ply attendees with samples of their wares.

Craft Brew Races encourages runners to dress up in costumes for a chance to win trophies, gift cards, and the begrudging respect of a father figure.
