About Restorative Bodywork Boulder LLC
Restorative Bodywork Boulder is dedicated to assisting you in restoring balance through conscious bodywork tailored to fit your specific needs.
I believe the body is a wise system that serves to guide us both physically and emotionally as tension, stress, anxiety, and negative emotions build up in the body and manifest themselves as physical discomfort. Muscle pain, tightness, structural and postural imbalances, and repetitive overuse of the body are often ignored as we go about our daily lives, left to exacerbate until normal movement becomes limited and the sensation of pain settles in to signal to us that there is an issue in need of attention.
My massage practice focuses on aiding you in improving your well-being and recover from general stress and tension, sport-related injuries, surgery, or find relief from pre/post-natal discomfort, among others. Whether you wish to pamper yourself or find relief from pain, I will assist you in restoring your body's balance.
Please take a look below for a general description of the main massage modalities I offer in my practice. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, need additional information, or have specific requests.
Therapeutic massage is issues-focused bodywork that addresses specific complaints, from localized muscle tightness (such as back or neck pain), tensions headaches, injury or surgery recovery, thoracic outlet syndrome, pseudo sciatica, releasing nagging knots (trigger points), postural dysfunctions, to overuse issues in athletes, aiding with restoration of strength and range of motion, and many other more or less common complaints. Therapeutic massage is an integrative modality that employs various techniques, such as deep tissue, trigger point therapy, and stretching, among others, in order to relieve the degree of tension in muscles and fascia, or to free bound or impinged nerves.
Prenatal Massage focuses on relieving discomfort and stress in the mother-to-be, or postpartum, as she goes through natural changes during and after pregnancy. Postural changes causing shoulder, back, rib, hip and foot pain, and muscle fatigue are quite common during this special time of life. Massage can significantly help alleviate pain and tension from given areas of the body and contribute to a notable feeling of well-being and relief. I encourage partners of pre-natal clients to join these therapy sessions where they can learn a few simple techniques to safely apply at home to help the expecting mother feel better whenever needed. Pre- and post- natal massage help bolster health by aiding in alleviating pain, improving circulation, increasing muscle tone, and reducing physical and mental fatigue.
Full body massage is a type of bodywork whose primary goal is to help the entire body relax, head to toes. If there is a problematic area that needs special attention, such as a sore back or tight shoulders, the therapist can spend more time focusing on those trouble spots. The trade-off, however, may be less time spent on other areas of the body. To ensure the full treatment of every body part, as well as a focus on specific issues, consider making an appointment for more than an hour-long session.
