What makes your business stand out from the competition?
Our head coach and founder, Tim Lukas, records, produces, and masters professionally both in Europe and the United States. He is a graduate of Germany’s prestigious Tonmeister program, considered to be the most intensive music-engineering program in the world. Tim was invited to the Berklee College of Music as a Fulbright Scholar, graduating with a triple major in Music Production, Piano Performance, and Composition. Tim has freelanced in world-class recording facilities before founding Blink Music in Boston, he has worked with top international producers, artists and engineers within a variety of musical styles, contributing to his diverse range as a producer. He frequently writes and co-writes for artists and composes for musical theater, film and videogame scores.
Tim Lukas is also head coach of the peak performance-training program Functional Life Coaching. Functional Life Coaching can provide an additional value for students and helping them to overcome obstacles that may prevent the achievement of goals that would be otherwise within reach.

Classes are held at Blink Music Studios in Cambridge, Central Square. Blink is a leading New England studio for young artist development and offers also Fly in the Studio Music Production (functionalpiano.com) and Functional Voice Training (functionalvoice.com). Our environment is elegant, safe and peaceful with 2 beautiful Grand Pianos, latest Protools technology and high end electronics.
What course materials do you provide? What do students need to bring? Students need to bring a notebook. All FITS students need to possess high motivation to succeed, a basic level of musical training and access to an Apple Mac Pro, IMac or MacBook Pro computer.
Higher production and engineering levels require investments in additional hard and software.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business? A passion for making classical and contemporary music accessible, a knack for effective teaching and the wish to inspire others to learn to use their abilities to produce high-quality music.
