We called to book the cruise and confirmed. The captain called us about an hour before the trip to say that they were calling for rain. Beautiful night, no rain - I suspect there were too few for him to do the cruise. He marked this groupon as redeemed even though we did not take the trip. Have not received my money back.

The charter only attracted a few of us and the man who owns the business and is the Captain is not super friendly and seems bored with his job.

Very nice harbor cruise - would recommend it to anyone wanting to cruise the Charleston harbor at sunset. I initially thought it would be better(and it still might be) to take the sailing cruise. But when I saw it in the harbor it appeared to be very over crowded.

We don't own a boat and it is great to be able to go to Morris Island for 2 hours to sight see and find shells/treasures. Captain Brett is very nice and we have taken this tour a couple of times.

Great water tour of the harbor and surrounding area with lots of dolphin alongside. A wonderful ride.

We were hoping to have more narration about the area versus only seeing dolphins. We did see many pods of dolpins but that grew monotonous after awhile. The owner/operator was also a bit difficult to work wit as well. I had friends coming to visit me and they asked me to take care of the arrangements and we would settle up later. I bought a Groupon for myself as well as my out of town friends. I received a very nasty email screaming at me for violating his policy of 1 Groupon per family. We were 2 separate families trying to meet up on the same day. We were trying to streamline the planning process. But no, I was ordered to cancel one Groupon and have my friends order one. They did and we did get the price but the whole attitude and unwillingness to work with his clients earned the owner operator a choice name amongst us. Its called customer service NOT customer dis-service which is what it felt like jumping through his hoops. Boo!

Very enjoyable afternoon. Great captain and staff. Did not find as many shells as expected, but very relaxing and great picture taking opportunities. A plus was spotting some dolphins on the way out. Would def do it again and wear water shoes because best shelling was digging in the water's edge, however, some crabs in the edge and cloudiness of water that day prevented us from getting deep enough to get some real shelling in. Might have been better to do the shelling trip in the morning.

From Our Editors

From Charleston’s sandy shores to its grassy marshes, Captain Bret Curlett explores every natural environment he can aboard a 32-foot catamaran. As owner of Harborview Charters, the captain regularly loads up to 26 passengers into his vessel for watery voyages, including sea-bass fishing in the harbor. He shows his guests some of the wonders of the natural world on expeditions to the Lowcountry marshes to search for wildlife such as great blue herons, and dolphins. For even more interaction with nature, Captain Curlett ferries groups to a beach on secluded Morris Island, where they can gather seashells or replace their own molars with shark teeth.
