Paddle ON, Charleston

Students breath deep into their yoga postures, reach their fingers up to sky, and blink open their eyes as a swell rocks the paddleboard gripped tightly underneath their toes. This is PeddleZen—a yoga class held on top of the water. The paddleboard-based classes don’t end with yoga, however. Students can take Pilates, tai chi, and even intense boot-camp classes that combine cardio workouts and strength training—all while breathing in sea air as spotted fish drift lazily underfoot. In addition to fitness classes, Paddle On also leads guests on tours and fishing trips or hosts special events such as endurance paddles.
