What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Welcome to Checkmat Charlotte. We offer Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction to all ages, both for art and for competition. Checkmat Charlotte is ran by Michael Allen, who has dedicated his life to training champions and sharing his Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu knowledge with his students.

What equipment is provided? Is there anything visitors need to bring?
We have grappling mats, a full size competition mma cage as well as a full fitness and power lifting facility.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I'm a lifelong martial artist and wrestler. Jiu Jitsu is a powerful art that can connect your mental and physical health as well prepare you to defend yourself against dangerous situations. It has saved my life and it can do the same for you.

What do you love most about your job?
I love developing and teaching others jiu jitsu. I would rather be helping you with the art of Jiu jitsu than anything else.
