The daughter of an oil painter and ballet dancer, Monique Vendetti Mortimer has creativity coursing through her veins. Her company, Home Styling Today, brings these instincts to life via striking, stylish domestic redesigns. At the beginning of each new project, Monique walks through a casual consultation at the client’s home, assessing both the state of the house and the desires of its inhabitants. She also helps homeowners find their “design personality” through a magazine exercise; clients flip through the pages of countless periodicals, tagging things they like and strengthening their sense of their own style. Based on this collaboration, Monique and her team will custom create a design plan, including everything from paint and window treatments to final touches, such as wall decor and fake bowling trophies. Once clients give the go-ahead, Monique executes the design, making each home’s decor resonate in one harmonious fashion.
