Policies

Admission
We reserve the right to prohibit admittance of pets lacking proof of vaccinations, and/or pets displaying signs of untreated or potentially contagious conditions of any kind, and/or aggressive behavior. We reserve the right to charge handling fees for excessively difficult/aggressive pets requiring additional staff and/or additional time in order that we may deliver proper care
Vaccines
First, Virginia State law requires the Rabies vaccination for all dogs four months of age and older. Second, the combination vaccine commonly known as "distemper" or "DHLPP", protects your dog against viral diseases, including canine distemper, the hepatitis, leptospirosis, the parvovirus or the parainfluenza . Third, Bordetella or kennel cough(puppies 8 weeks and older), inoculation protects dogs against this highly contagious, potentionally deadly, air-borne infection
Hours Open to the Public
By Appointment but generally Monday – Sunday 8AM-10AM, and 4PM-6PM. Please call before coming if we are not expecting you we may be out with the dogs, running errands or having lunch. We are closed to the public in honor of major Federal holidays. Being closed to the public means Club Canine does not accept drop offs, or pick ups on these days and yes, your dog will still get fed and let out just like normal business days just no humans. THIS IS NOT A 24 HOUR FACILITY, it is impossible to have staff 24 hours, being a dog owner, you should completely understand that you are not around your dog 24/7 (if you have to be, we have training for those with anxiety, and daycare for the energetic ones of course). Please understand that that does not mean they are left out alone unattended, they are in individual rooms sleeping in their beds. If you need/want 24 hour care, the charge is $100 a night
Deposits, Cancellations, & Rates
We accept reservations with a one night required deposit. Deposits are fully refundable if cancellations are made 48 hours prior to arrival. Payment is accepted at the beginning of your dogs stay. During holidays and peak season, we require a credit card to be givin at time of reservation with a 2 night minimum stay. If you do not need 2 nights, you will still be charged for 2 nights. All rates and services are subject to availability and change
Late Check-Out / Early Check-in Fee
Late check-outs and early check-ins shall incur a fee of $20 for the additional care and services. We shall make every attempt to accommodate requests for extended stays and early check-ins, including the maintenance of waiting lists during holiday and peak seasons
Food for your Pet's Health
We serve 4 Health grain free natural dry dog food. As our food system is designed for sensitive stomachs, it is particularly excellent for boarding, when new stimuli may cause digestive upset in some pets, even when on their own food. We recommend you bring your own dog food in order to keep your dog regular and happy throughout their stay. We charge $5 a day(breakfast and dinner) if food is forgotten or not brought
Emergencies
In the rare case of an emergency, we contact you, your vet, and utilize the local 24-hour veterinary emergency hospitals. For any health concern that may arise, our pet care professionals maintain a detailed log and provide it to you and your veterinarian. We also understand personal emergencies may arise and we will accomidate you the best we can and will work with you as much as possible. We will help in emergency situations if you cannot get your dog to the kennel, we will come pick your dog up from your house or specific location(depending on distance). We are here to help you in any way we can! In case of any emergency at any time please call 434-531-6212

Pet Portraits

Club Canine is proud to introduce our custom Pet portraits.
The portraits are painted by our own local artist, Jackie Pimentel. Jackie has loved animals all of her life and is now using her talent to help others keep alive their memories of their very special pet. All we need is a picture of your pet and Jackie can paint it. Jackie uses acrylic as her medium. Please see the photos below of some of Jackie's work.

Pet Massage and Hydrotherapy

Club Canine Kennel's mission is to provide exceptional care for all dogs
Big and small; young and old; in good health or who need some extra TLC. That's why we offer pet massage and hydrotherapy for all dogs. Just like their human companions, all dogs can benefit from the healing powers of massage
Puppies
Increases body awareness and enhances balance while they are rapidly developing. Can minimize destructive energy while encouraging proper behavior. Will also enhance the natural bond between you and your pet promoting obedience and loyalty
Show dogs
By stimulating circulation, show dogs will have a more natural and healthy coat. Massage and Hydrotherapy will assist in alleviating stress and nervousness that are often symptoms of public performance
Agility / working dogs
Soothes stiff or strained muscles and restores range of motion and flexibility thereby preventing injury, prolonging livelihood, and accelerating recovery
Your ol' couch potato pups or overweight pets
Restores and stimulates blood flow to underused muscles, encouraging their use and returning your pet to a more healthy, invigorated lifestyle
Recently adopted / shy / nervous dogs
Helps to develop socialization and trust through human touch which is very important to overcoming behavioral and emotional problems
Pre and post surgery
Prepares the body for the trauma of surgery in order to aid in the recovery process. The importance of relaxation before surgery is well documented to have substantial health benefits just as massage post surgery is equally important in minimizing scare tissue development, discomfort, and promoting a speedy recovery
Aging dogs
Increases body awareness, balance, and range of motion. Massage can eliminate major pains, thereby creating a better quality of life. Club Canine Kennel in Charlottesville, VA offers a safe, convenient, and nurturing place for your dog while you are at work, play, or doing errands.
Our indoor lounge area is kept warm and clean with supervised social time for a safe and positive experience. We also have a fenced in yard allowing your dog plenty of space to run around, play, and explore. And for dogs with special needs, we offer dog walks and other activities to keep your four-legged friend fit and happy

We do all kinds of extra activities! We also offer walks down by the river, dog park, tractor supply visits, and even time spent in the office when we do computer work and phone calls. We are open to any extra service ideas you may want

Personalized Dog Boarding

A private room
ranging in size from 6′ by 8′ to 10′ by 8′ with over-sized windows and plenty of natural light
We will adjust any room
To your pets specific need to ensure the most comfortable stay. Feel free to bring anything you want for your pet to have in his/her own room. Bed, blanket, towels, shirt, toys and/or treats. Please keep in mind that dogs can make messes and if things get destroyed or messed on, Club Canine IS NOT responsible! In other words, do not bring his/her $100 bed or favorite "baby"
Breakfast (6a-8a) and Dinner (5p-7p)
We encourage you to bring your own dog food so we can keep up with regularity. We feed twice a day unless otherwise noted by your Veterinarian, or if your dog is under 6 months of age. You can bring whole bags for longer stays or individualized baggies for a few nights, please bring extra just in case of emergencies or changes in your schedule. Please understand that our faculty has a huge passion for the healthy well being of all dogs. If we see that your dog may be starting to put on a couple pounds, we will communicate with you our concern, and work together with you to help your dog become healthier. All dogs are different just as humans are, so we understand special diets and respect your choices
Medications
We do not charge for giving medications
If you do not want
Your dog to participate in doggie daycare, then your dog will have be able to relieve him/herself, 4 to 5 times a day before bedtime. We strongly encourage doggie daycare for sleepovers at an additional $10 a day
At Club Canine we have rules
Following the rules come with rewards, so yes, your fur baby will get a little spoiled. If you have diet restrictions please bring your own treats and let us know the diet restriction so they do not feel left out

Swimming session
Swimming takes place at Aqua Clean Pool Service across town on Avon st ext or we will take them to the Rivanna River (across street) or Chris Green Lake (near c-ville airport) for exercising. We will transport the dogs if they are being boarded or we can meet at Aqua Clean if you would like to watch. Megan does Hydrotherapy for those dogs needing therapy, such as ACL injuries, hip dysplasia, flat feet, etc

One-on-one play time
One on one play could mean anything you want. Sometimes we will bring your dog up to the office and have one on one time there. Other times it means we go outside and lay in the grass and play with a toy. Every so often we take them over for socialization inside of Tractor Supply. If you have an older dog that just needs some extra loving, we will go cuddle with them in their own bed
