Groupon is asking about the experience today, Friday June 17th. The event isn't until Sunday. Jumping the gun a bit, Groupon.

VERY unorganized. Pretty much impossible to see where the vendors were- there could have easily been a number taped to the tent that matched the map we were given. Even trying to count the vendors/look at the map was useless because of the lines. It was an incredibly congested area on top of that- no traffic flow, people banging into you. Honestly, it was terrible- I'm surprised this was the 3rd annual one. My friends and I just used 5 of our 15 tickets and left- total waste of time and money. And I walked a mile to get there.

I'm glad I only paid the Groupon price for this event. Though there were many great beers to be sampled, this event was incredibly poorly organized and obviously oversold. We waited in line to get in another line to get bracelets to get into this fest, and then spent the afternoon elbows to elbows with probably 1000+ people in no discernable lines (and with zero crowd control) trying to get to the front of lines to get beer samples. Also, there were only 5 port a potties for this massive crowd. We wound up getting to try a lot of drinks, but I wouldn't suggest it and I certainly won't do it again.

AWFUL EVENT! Completely oversold, We were promised 15 beer tickets but were only able to push our way through to get about 5 total. The line was an hour to get in, for a 4 hour event..thats just unnaceptable.

Groupon users have a different check-in spot at Kenmore and Webster. Go there first! The lines for beers are long, but they move quickly. It worried us at first, but ended up being a great time!

It was way too unorganized! Too many tents next to each other and not spread out enough. You didn't even know which tent was which and there were not enough portapotys. Having tables outside/inside the tents were a horrible idea. There was no where for people to walk or be in line. It was just a big cluster of people. I would totally go back if there wasn't such a big line to get in and there was actually room to move around and actually get a drink without getting spilled on.

Extremely crowded with long lines. No signage in front of tents so had to get in line and hope that at the end was a beer I wanted to try. Because of the long lines, didnt get to use all my tickets.

Go early. It gets really crowded and busy later in the day.

From Our Editors

During the early years of the 20th century, the area just west of McCormick Place rumbled with the sounds of of the century's most iconic machinery: the automobile. The innumerable showrooms, dealerships, and mechanic's shops earned the area its nickname: Motor Row. In the 21st century, the auto industry works elsewhere, but a new one has moved in: craft brewing. On Labor Day Weekend, the Motor Row Craft Beer & Wine Festival celebrates the neighborhood's newest job creators with two days of brews, vinos, and partying. Guests of honor including Near South Side neighbors such as Motor Row Brewing and Around the Bend Beer Co. will dole out samples with other Chicago and regional beermakers; all told, the event features more than 50 individual beers and wines. Like any good Chicago street festival, the fest will also host plenty of food vendors, artists, and live entertainment.
