The Flaming Ice Cube, Cleveland

Ohioans don't have to go to all the way to New York or California to find one of the best meatless burgers in the United States. They can instead head over to The Flaming Ice Cube, located in Cleveland and Boardman, to try one of VegNews magazine's picks for top veggie burgers in the country. The magazine called the vegan cafe's vegan burger—with its housemade grilled soy-based patty and combination of mustard, ketchup, and vegan mayo—both "stellar" and "scrumptious."

The Flaming Ice Cube's other housemade vegan dishes vie for diner's affections, too, including 2–3 soups made fresh each day, paninis, whole-fruit smoothies, and organic quinoa bowls.

At the Boardman location, a gift shop entices patrons to stay longer with its eclectic wares. Vegan jewelry with gemstones sits alongside Dead Sea mineral soaps and colorful socks made from recycled cotton. The Boardman location also delves into the world of knitting with a lounge where needle artists can pick up skeins of bamboo yarn, sink into armchairs, and clack away until they have a spider web to sleep in that night.
