Road To Mafraq, Concord

Over the last five years, nearly 5 million people have fled Syria, and half of them are children. Some of the children were so young when they left home that they've never had the chance to attend school. But thanks to Road To Mafraq, kids like 10-year-old Sama can make up for lost time. The foundation raises money through Kickstarter-style campaigns. Rather than asking folks to donate money blindly, Road To Mafraq clearly describes where the money will go, who it will go to, and how it will help. These campaigns include raising enough funds to supply the children of Zataari Village with winter coats or send children like Sama to school. As she says, “I never even knew what a teacher was, but now when I grow up, I want to be a teacher."
