What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Corvallis Aikikai is open 6 days a week and offers classes to children and adults. We are a member dojo of Birankai North America and associated with the Aikikai Hombu Dojo.

What's one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans?
Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing and come in and try a class. We start by stretching and gradually move into learning techniques. You will learn to roll and fall safely.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
There was no Aikikai dojo in the area. I love aikido. I've discovered over the years that some people are just immediately captivated by what they see in an aikido dojo. I am one of those.

What do you love most about your job?
I love to see people progress. I love that "Aha!" moment. I love the fact that deep changes occur in people and I get to be a guide along the way. It is a terrible responsibility and a privilege. And I take it very seriously.
