Before the Stork 4D strives to make the ultrasound experience as comfortable as can be. Inside the cozily appointed ultrasound room, the mother-to-be reclines, not on an examination or poker table, but atop a plush bed. Meanwhile, friends and family members perch on a soft sofa with throw pillows rather than industrial chairs. And though the room seats five adults comfortably, the mother-to-be can bring as many family members and friends along as she wants. The image of the baby flickers to life on an enormous 75-inch screen powered by the cutting-edge GE Voluson 730 ultrasound machine. The staff can show 2D images or more detailed 3D pictures, which may be enhanced with 4D imaging so the baby's movement can be seen in real time. The technicians can even determine sex as early as 15 weeks.
