The instructors of Sling Body Fitness treat pain and boost overall body awareness using the power of suspension. In sling and suspension classes, students use two slings to test their mettle against the resistance of their own body. These exercises are designed to address and ameliorate pain, while improving bodily strength through functional movements. The end goal happens outside of the classroom though, when the benefits of sling-based exercises eke out into everyday life. Participants can enjoy better balance, strength and joint stability by taking part in group or private sessions.
In addition to sling sessions, Sling Body FItness instructors help patrons to sculpt long and lean muscles adhering to the spine-stretching and body-toning methods originally developed by Joseph Pilates. Conceived as rehabilitation exercises for those suffering from back injuries and Celtic knots seeking untangled physiques, the gentle yet challenging exercises stretch one muscle group at a time while strengthening another and improving abdominal strength.
