Instructors conduct classes for students of all experience levels, guiding participants through the poses and breathing exercises of yoga styles such as Vinyasa flow, gentle flow, and heart-centered alignment yoga. The studio also offers chakra yoga, focused on opening and balancing the chakras, and PiYo, which combines yoga and Pilates into a workout that increases strength and flexibility.

About Essence Yoga
After giving birth to her oldest child, Debra Cunha turned to yoga to restore her body, improve her health, and calm her frazzled mind. Instantly taking to the practice, Debra went on to study for years in the hatha, Vinyasa, and Anusara traditions under a variety of seasoned yogis. Today, Debra captains her own yoga studio where she conducts beginner and advanced classes in the Vinyasa and gentle flow styles.
Essence Yoga relocated to a new studio in April, a space with 20-foot-high ceilings housed in a historic building from the 1800s that was once a theater. Atop the studio's hardwood floors, Debra and her team of certified instructors guide students through challenging poses designed to improve alignment, strengthen muscles, and reduce stress. Striving to create a supportive community, they encourage students to explore the city together after class by trying out local restaurants and the weekly farmer's market.
