Typically I do not care about my hair. It grows back right? I typically go to an academy to get my hair done. Everyone needs to start somewhere. BUT after planning a wedding during a pandemic last year and having to post pone and eventually cancel I decided to just take photos. So I care about my hair more than ever for this ONE moment. And I was rushed to book before the shut down of salons. So maybe my first mistake would be going to a junior hairstylist. The technique used for my balayage needed some tweaking for sure. I am left with orangey roots that look not purposely left there but grown out. I cannot imagine what my hair will look like when it grows. Back combing or applying a feather stroke technique would have avoided this problem. I had 4" or more cut from my hair which I really did not want to lose at this time and my bangs are completely uneven. I am heartbroken. Lastly half way through my treatment (after bleaching) I was told I would need to spend an additional $40 for colour (toner) and if that was okay. At that point you have no choice but to pay. I wasn't about to walk out with bleach streaks in my hair. This charge was unexpected which always annoys me. But I was reassured that this cost should be overlooked for my hair was long and they had the right to charge me more because of my long hair and did not. Which is true in many circumstances, but no where can I see that I would be charged extra for colour. I hate being blindsided like that. And customers appreciate honesty from the beginning. Buying Groupons is such a gamble. The lighting was off in the salon so it was hard to get a good look at my hair. I nearly gasped when I saw my hair in the mirror for the first time at home. My roots are so bad. Overall I feel I could have risked it and went to an academy and got the same or better result for cheaper even with a Groupon, rather than driving across the city to feel completely disappointed. This is the hair I will see in my wedding photos for the rest of my life. And that is simply a hard pill to swallow. There are times to try to save money and there are times to not
