Chuckleberry Farm and Winery, Bloomfield

If you think you don't like wine, it's a pretty safe assumption that you've never tried the vittles at Chuckleberry Farm and Winery. The craft vineyard specializes in berry wine, which is made primarily with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries instead of grapes. The result is a sweeter, fruitier version of the classic beverage—one that owners Chuck "Chuckleberry" Hall and his wife, Ladonna, love so much they decided to devote their lives to it back in 2001.

Their 13-acre farm sits on the outskirts of historic Bardstown, making it a must-visit destination along the Kentucky Wine Trail. On weekends the Halls invite guests to sample not just their specialty berry wines, but a selection of peach, pear, and apple wines as well. The farm also produces a wealth of non-alcoholic sweet-tooth satisfiers. Homemade jams and jellies and raw local honey can be scooped up by the jarful, and fruit cobblers, or wine-infused fudge and cupcakes perfectly top off memorable meals.
