Amid the tourist-friendly dockside shops of SanRoc Cay, John Grant Gordon has created a space where people can relax, sip libations, and laugh as they discover their creative instincts through painting. Visitors to the fun-stuffed studio of Life’s a Canvas toast morning mimosas or evening wine at the in-house tiki bar as they don aprons and pick up paintbrushes to unlock their hidden artistic talent. During art classes, Gordon leads students through each portrait and landscape step by step, helping them lay down the painting’s foundation with a colorful background before adding a foreground of umbrella-bearing drink glasses, sandy beaches, or Whistler's Mother in flip-flops. Guests can mingle with newfound friends during nightly painting lessons, or arrange their own private parties to celebrate birthdays, ladies' nights, or company socials.
