Roy Odom is a wonderfully patient and knowledgeable teacher. I always thought that given the opportunity, I might like working with clay on a wheel, but now I know for sure! I'm hooked! ;-)

We had fun with the class, but after the demo we didn't have much time to make our own pieces so I felt a little rushed as the teacher practically finished my pot for me. And there was no adult beverages or memory cd at all. But teacher was very friendly and we still had a good time. I'd suggest less demo, more hands on.

Roy is a wonderful teacher -friendly, knowledgeable, thorough and helpful. The facilities were good. And we had a great time learning. We would recommend Soulflame Pottery classes for anyone who has ever wondered what it would be like to throw a pot.

From Our Editors

At Soulflame Pottery, artists and devoted clay enthusiasts Roy Odom and Cindi Wills impart their passions for the craft by way of pottery classes and creations of their own. Open to anyone aged 10 and older, the facility keeps its classes small and intimate. That scaled-down design allows for plenty of one-on-one instruction, and enables students to explore both hand-building and wheel-throwing methods while working on custom projects. Roy and Cindi's own pieces include carved porcelain, sculptures, and functional items, such as serving bowls and a time-out chair for unruly students.
