Israel, 1948: Imi Lichtenfeld becomes head hand-to-hand combat instructor of the newly formed Israeli Defense Forces, tasked to create an effective system of self-defense and fighting for the soldiers. Fresno, 2013: Using the evolution of those techniques, Vanguard Krav Maga Fresno's instructors arm students with self-defense skills for fighting armed or multiple opponents. While proofing their pupils against violence, they also emphasize Lichtenfeld's original tenets of the training. They teach the martial art as a means to end violence, rather than to begin it.
