Back in 1995, a year after he opened the first Layne's Chicken Fingers, Mike Layne saw a man stop to straighten up the flower beds out front. That man was Mike Garratt, who would eventually go on to own the business and carry on Layne's passion for quality food. Since then, the company has expanded to five locations, each serving up Layne's original chicken fingers completely prepared by hand—that means cut, battered, and breaded by hand every day. To complement savory chicken strips, the shop offers crinkle-cut fries, potato salad, and its super-secret zesty sauce.
