What was the inspiration to start or run this business?

The love of golf. Its an addiction, and I want to play year round! Opening Oakwood Virtual Golf was the answer for that addiction for me, and I knew other golfers would enjoy it as much as I would. My wife and I researched all of the simulators on the market because we wanted the most accurate for our customers and aboutGolf® was the best of the best. My wife was excited that the aboutGolf® simulators have games for families and non-golfers like miniature golf and skee ball.

What do you love most about your job?

Being around fellow golfers and seeing how much fun our customers have. From hearing a group cheer at a hole out to a gasp at a match deciding missed putt or hearing a 5 year old’s excitement at making a hole in one on miniature golf. The excitement our facility generates is just awesome!

What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?

Its hard to pick one, because we’ve had such great feedback in many different ways! One in particular, we had a group of guys that rented out a simulator for four hours in the beginning of last winter one Thursday morning. It was their first time at our facility. About 15 minutes into their round they came to the bar and asked us “Can we rent this time every Thursday?” I replied, "yes, next Thursday is open” To which they replied “We want every Thursday for the rest of the year!” We had this happen multiple times!
